As Arriya walked through the marketplace of her home, she constantly felt a strange energy emanating from…something. She looked around, her smile turning to a deep frown. The others noticed it and began to back away, some closing their shops, others beginning to jog away.
"My, this place is strange. Why is everyone closing?" She heard. She walked over to the scene and found a young man, about 5'8", standing at one of the closed shops.
"Who are you?" Arriya growled, now sensing this was who the strange energy was emanating from. He looked at her. Nice green eyes, she thought.
"My name is Mudd, miss. And who might you be?" Arriya smirked, revealing her fangs.
"You haven't heard? I am Arriya, Demon Queen and Goddess of Darkness and Light." She looked proud and stood over him, proud of her 6'2" height.
"You're just the one I was looking for." He looked at her pearl earrings. "May I see those?" Arriya's hands went to her earrings.
"My earrings? Why?"
"You're been called, Arriya. The Book needs you." Arriya's hands shook as she removed the earrings and handed them to Mudd.
"The Book?" The earrings began to glow.
"Here is my Function to you. Your earrings will allow you to create objects of transportation." As Mudd handed her back her earrings, he finally explained what was going on as a temporary Function was created from a piece of clay to take Arriya.
"The Book is the realm, where all the worlds are connected. But the Book is unmaking itself. That's where you and others come in. You need to find out why and stop it. So, are you ready?"
"Wait. Why not Ethon, Kalle or Sabrina?" She was referring to the three most powerful gods and goddesses.
"Their powers wouldn't be as much of help as yours." Arriya nodded.
"I guess you're right." She opened her cell phone and texted something to the trio, then shut the phone. "I'm ready." Mudd gestured to the temporary Function.
"This will take you to the realm of Stories. Good luck." She took the piece of clay in her hands and closed her eyes. She felt something changing and when she opened her eyes, she was in a forest.
"Well, here we go." She said as she began walking around, looking for someone else, the pearl earrings still glowing.
